Support
Stuck on something? Most answers are below. For everything else, email us and a human will read it.
Contact us
Email support@kignit.online. To help us help you quickly, include:
- your device model (for example, iPhone 15) and iOS version;
- the app version if you know it;
- what you did, what you expected, and what happened instead;
- a screenshot or screen recording if you can.
For privacy-specific requests, use support@kignit.online (see Privacy Choices).
Microphone problems
Kignit listens to your guitar on the device to tune and score your playing. If it cannot hear you:
- Check permission: open iOS Settings, find Kignit, and make sure Microphone is on. The app also has a built-in mic check you can run.
- Move to a quieter room and closer to the microphone.
- Remove cases or covers that block the mic, and disconnect Bluetooth headsets whose microphones pick up poorly.
- Play single notes clearly while tuning; let each note ring.
Microphone audio is analyzed on your device only and never uploaded.
Song import problems
- Supported formats: MP3, M4A, and AAC.
- Files must be 25 MB or smaller and no longer than 10 minutes.
- The file must be available locally; download it from your cloud storage first if the picker shows it as not downloaded.
- You must confirm you have the right to use the audio before Kignit will import it.
Song analysis: limits, failures, delays
- Kignit Pro includes one song analysis per month. Unused monthly analyses do not carry over.
- New accounts may receive a free welcome analysis with lower limits (shorter and smaller files) than paid analyses.
- Analysis usually finishes within a few minutes. It needs a network connection; the app polls for the result, so you can leave the screen and come back.
- If an analysis fails, or finishes without finding any usable chords, your credit is returned automatically.
- If an analysis seems stuck for a long time, close and reopen the song, check your connection, and try again later. If a credit looks wrongly spent, email us with the approximate time of the attempt.
Kignit Pro
Restore purchases
If Pro is not recognized, open the paywall or the Pro membership card in the app and tap Restore Purchases, while signed in to the same Apple Account that bought the subscription.
Pro still not recognized
- Confirm the subscription is active in your Apple ID settings.
- Check your internet connection, then restart the app.
- Still wrong? Email support@kignit.online with your approximate purchase date.
Manage or cancel
Use Manage Subscription in the app, or go to iOS Settings, your name, Subscriptions, or visit apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Canceling stops renewal; Pro stays active until the end of the paid period. Refunds are decided by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Offline use
Lessons, practice tools, the tuner, progress, and already-analyzed song charts work offline. Song analysis, account sign-in, and purchases need a network connection.
Changing the app language
Kignit supports English and Amharic. Open Settings inside the app and choose your language; the app starts in English until you change it.
Account and data
- Delete your account and server data: see Delete Your Account.
- Request a copy of your data or other privacy rights: see Privacy Choices.
- Remove an imported song's audio from your device: open the song in the app and choose to remove the audio or delete the song.
